Lesson #1 – When it comes to the past, !

Genesis 12:1 (NLT)

“Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family…”

Isaiah 43:18-19 (GW)

Forget what happened in the past, and do not dwell on events from long ago. 19 I am going to do something new. It is already happening. Don’t you recognize it? I will clear a way in the desert. I will make rivers on dry land.

Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)

Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Lesson #2 – When it comes to the present, !

Genesis 12:1 (NLT)
“Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go…”

Hebrews 11:8-10 (MSG)

By an act of faith, Abraham said yes to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home. When he left he had no idea where he was going.

9 By an act of faith he lived in the country promised him, lived as a stranger camping in tents. Isaac and Jacob did the same, living under the same promise.

10 Abraham did it by keeping his eye on an unseen city (kept looking out) with real, eternal foundations—the City designed and built by God.

Lesson #3 – When it comes to the future, !

Genesis 12:2 (NLT)
(The LORD said to Abraham) I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.

Luke 6:38 (NLT)
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
