Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NLT)
Finishing is better than starting.

Finishing Smart Principle #1:

Don’t Do Things!

Proverbs 19:3 (MSG)
People ruin their lives by their own stupidity, so why does GOD always get blamed?

1 Kings 11:1-3 (NLT)

Now King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh’s daughter, he married women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and from among the Hittites. 2 The LORD had clearly instructed the people of Israel, “You must not marry them, because they will turn your hearts to their gods.” Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway. 3 He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the LORD.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NLT)

All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

We must never stop worshiping God !

Deuteronomy 6:10-13 (MSG)
When GOD, your God, ushers you into the land he promised through your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give you, you’re going to walk into large, bustling cities you didn’t build, 11 well-furnished houses you didn’t buy, come upon wells you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive orchards you didn’t plant. When you take it all in and settle down, pleased and content, 12 make sure you don’t forget how you got there—GOD brought you out of slavery in Egypt. 13 Deeply respect GOD, your God. Serve and worship him exclusively.

Psalm 115:8 (GW)

Those who make idols end up like them.

Finishing Smart Principle #2:

Intercept !

15 This resurrection life you received from God … it’s adventurously expectant … “What’s next, Papa?”

Stopping deterioration also requires some choices!

No discipline (not punishment/training) is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
