Get Smart – Part 1: Smart Choices!

July 3, 2022

Smart Choice #1: Totally!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Smart Choice #2:

Seek the , not our personal preference!

Proverbs 14:12 (NLT)
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

Isaiah 30:10 (TEV)
They tell the prophets to keep quiet. They say, “Don’t talk to us about what’s right. Tell us what we want to hear. Let us keep our illusions.”

Smart Choice #3: Ask for !

Proverbs 24:6 (GN)

The more advice you get, the more likely you are to win.

Proverbs 20:18 (TLB)
Don’t go ahead with your plans without the advice of others …

Proverbs 18:15 (TLB)

The intelligent person is always open to new ideas. In fact, they look for them.

Smart Choice #4: Play the !

Proverbs 27:12 (TLB)
A sensible person watches for problems ahead and prepares to meet them. The simpleton never looks and suffers the consequences.

Hebrews 11:25-26 (NLT)

Moses chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of the Messiah than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to the great reward that God would give him.

Proverbs 4:26 (NIV)

Give careful thought to the paths for your feet …

Smart Choice #5: Fail !

What is the root of achievement? Is it family background? Wealth? Opportunity? High morals? The absence of hardship? No, none of these things are the key. When it comes right down to it, I know of only one factor that separates those who consistently shine from those who don’t: The difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure.

(John Maxwell)

Proverbs 24:16 (NLT)

The godly may fall seven times, but they will get up again.
