Future Instruction #1: Up!

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NLT)
You should know this … that in the last days there will be very difficult times. ² For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. ³ They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. ⁴ They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. ⁵ They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.

2 Timothy 3:8-9 (CEV)
Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, these people are enemies of the truth. Their minds are sick, and their faith isn’t real. ⁹ But they won’t get very far with their foolishness. Soon everyone will know the truth about them, just as Jannes and Jambres were found out.

Exodus 8:18-19 (NIV)
But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not. Since the gnats were on people and animals everywhere, ¹⁹ the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.”

Future Instruction #3: Up!

Through (God’s) Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.

• God’s Word teaches us what’s right and wrong!

2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.

• God’s Word teaches us how to get right and live right!

2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)
… (God’s Word) corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

Luke 6:47-49 (MSG)

“These words I speak to you are not mere additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundation words, words to build a life on.

⁴⁸ If you work the words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who dug deep and laid the foundation of his house on bedrock. When the river burst its banks and crashed against the house, nothing could shake it; it was built to last.

⁴⁹ But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a dumb carpenter who built a house but skipped the foundation. When the swollen river came crashing in, it collapsed like a house of cards. It was a total loss.”

Future Instruction #4: Up!

Tell everyone God’s message. Be ready at all times to do whatever is needed … do this with great patience and careful teaching.
