What is the joy of worship?

In Psalm 98, It is expression of jubilant, joyful worship. With trumpets blasting, hands clapping, and people singing and shouting for joy, there is a great celebration of all the wonderful things God has done and all creation joins in. Every day in our lives can show that we are bringing joyful worship to God.

What is the power of worship?

It is the means whereby we invite God’s presence into our lives and into our world. Worship has a way of changing our lives and giving us different perspectives on how we see our circumstances. It is an incredible blessing to see life from God’s point of view instead of our own.

What is joy according to God?

The biblical definition of joy says that joy is a feeling of good pleasure and happiness that is dependent on who Jesus is rather than on who we are or what is happening around us. Joy comes from the Holy Spirit, abiding in God’s presence and from hope in His word.

What is the essence of worship?

It involves giving to God our total self. We can worship without uttering a single sound because God’s spirit within us is contacting the Spirit in the Godhead.

Jesus laid out what real true worship is, first it’s to worship God in spirit and truth. That means you understand who God is and all about the Godhead. So real worship is more than singing songs, real worship involves what Romans says; “offering your body as a living sacrifice.”

HOW DO WE EXALT GOD IN WORSHIP? 

Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort [Zfrom his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:  6 Who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!  9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”

What are the characteristics of true worship?

A sincere heart is honest, loyal, fully committed, and has no reservations. God wants worshippers to have a sincere heart, zero hypocrisy or religious acts. He wants sincere and loyal hearts. God waits for us to give complete control of what we are over to His sovereignty.

Worship is the giving of our entire self, our thoughts and our emotions, to God’s use. All of life is an act of submission, an act of worship. Our service to God is not centered on a time or a temple, but is done whenever and wherever we are, because we are the temple of God.
