Many have argued Paul was in going to Jerusalem.

Now He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that have been written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and will be ridiculed, and abused, and spit upon, and after they have flogged Him, they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise.”  Luke 18:31-33

Principles To Apply When We Count The Cost To Follow Jesus

  • Love people, but love more.

We must resist the urge to be pleasers.

It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. Luke 21:13

Remember: There are .

  • Value , but follow God’s .

Without consultation, plans are frustrated, But with many counselors they succeed. Proverbs 15:22

Prepare plans by consultation, And make war by wise guidance. Proverbs 20:18

  • There is something worse than .

Don’t your life – it for others, and then you will actually life.

And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.   Mark 8:34-35

But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace.  Acts 20:24

  • When you follow Jesus – you are not and you regret it.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;  Philippians 1:21-23

  • Following Jesus is , but not following Jesus is more .

For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what could a person give in exchange for his soul?  For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
Mark 8:36-38

Let’s to His Lordship.
