[1] God wants us for his blessings!

Matthew 5:3 (NIV)

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:3 (AMP CE)

Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

[2] I position myself for blessing… when I deeply how much I need God!

Matthew 5:3 (GW)

“Blessed are those who recognize they are spiritually helpless. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.”

Matthew 5:3 (CEV)

God blesses those people who depend only on him. They belong to the kingdom of heaven!

Isaiah 14:12-14 (NIV)

12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

  • The sin of Satan in part… is to think so highly of yourself, that you take anything you want and think you

Luke 7:36-40, 47-50 (NIV)

36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”…

48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

  • Anyone who approaches God with real will receive the goodness of God every time!

[3] I position myself for blessing… when I pursue !

Philippians 2:2-4 (CEV)

Now make me completely happy! Live in harmony by showing love for each other. Be united in what you think, as if you were only one person. Don’t be jealous or proud, but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves. Care about them as much as you care about yourselves

  • “It’s about more than me” … is the beginning of

  • As harmony increases so does

Proverbs 13:10 (TLB)

Pride leads to arguments; be humble, take advice, and become wise.

  • At the of many arguments you’ll find pride

[4] I position myself for blessing… when I like Jesus did!

Philippians 2:5-8 (NIRV)

As you deal with one another, you should think and act as Jesus did.

In his very nature he was God.
Jesus was equal with God. But Jesus didn’t take advantage of that fact.
Instead, he made himself nothing.
He did this by taking on the nature of a servant.
He was made just like human beings.
He appeared as a man.
He was humble and obeyed God completely.
He did this even though it led to his death.
Even worse, he died on a cross!

  • He took on the of a servant

  • He appeared than he was

  • He obeyed God

[5] I position myself for blessing… when I declare !

Philippians 2:9-11 (NIRV)

So God lifted him up to the highest place.
God gave him the name that is above every name.
10
When the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone will kneel down to worship him.
Everyone in heaven and on earth and under the earth will kneel down to worship him.
11 Everyone’s mouth will say that Jesus Christ is Lord.
And God the Father will receive the glory.

James 4:10 (NLT)

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
