The Way of Jesus – Slowing
March 24, 2024 / Jon KeelWhy the hurry?
Dallas Willard once called hurry “.”
Hurry is incompatible with the way of Jesus. The love, joy, and peace that form the nucleus of Jesus’ kingdom are all impossible in a life of speed.
John Mark Comer
Jesus is open to interruption, relaxed, present, calm, wise, attentive, and compassionate. Our fast-paced culture is not aligned with the pace of Jesus’ kingdom.
How’s your ‘Walk’ with Jesus?
“We walk by , not by ” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
“We are created in Christ Jesus for , which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
“Walk in , as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us” (Ephesians 5:2).
“Walk in a manner of the Lord” (Colossians 1:10).
“Walk in toward outsiders, making the best use of the time” (Colossians 4:5).
In short, we “walk by the ” (Galatians 5:16).
