“Doing Good” // MISFITS [Part 4]

1 Peter 2:11-17
Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you. Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do what is evil, they will, by observing your good works, glorify God on the day of visitation. Submit to every human authority because of the Lord, whether to the Emperor as the supreme authority or to governors as those sent out by him to punish those who do what is evil and to praise those who do what is good. For it is God’s will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good. As God’s slaves, live as free people, but don’t use your freedom as a way to conceal evil. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the Emperor.

Live in a way that’s honorable among people who don’t know God.

Our living should people believe God not hinder people from believing God!

There is a clear political, governmental and understanding of authority charge to these verses.

MISFITS leadership, even when they leadership.

Peter wants Christians to live in a such a way that their pagan neighbors could have nothing negative to say against Christianity.

There is a line in this text that holds it all together, and gives the charge for us as MISFITS…

“For it is God’s will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.”

Wanna know what God wants you to do? .

Anyone can do good to those who do good to them, but MISFITS are those who do good, regardless.

Doing good is what do .

People may not believe like we believe, but they should not be able to deny the good we do.

We don’t just good, we good!

Let’s build a church that, if it ever went away, the community would mourn.

We will do if all will do !

How you live matters.

Stop leading with people you’re a Christian, 
and start leading with people you’re a Christian!

All hypocrisy is a behavior that contradicts what one claims to believe…
Stop or start !

The greatest apologetic in the world today is not what we say it’s what we do.
