Maybe the Holy Spirit knew these are big shoes to fill. So Paul now proceeds to give 2 more practical examples, two more living illustrations of ordinary saints that show us it’s possible to live this life: Timothy and Epaphroditus. These men are humble, others-focused servants who provide a shining example of working out their salvation in practical acts of serving without grumbling. Today, we focus on the heart of Timothy. I. His Spiritual (19-20a) Knowing that Timothy was there would bring great to the Apostle Paul. You need to know or be reminded that Paul spent years Timothy. The end result of discipleship is . Timothy will become Paul’s trouble-shooter and -solver. The difference in Timothy’s life, by the providence of God was that Paul, an older man in the Lord carefully in a spiritually fatherless young man. II.
