This one is written by an old man by the name of Simeon. If you are keeping track and are in to Latin, this song has been titled the Nunc Dimittis, after the first words in Latin. Simeon here is past his prime. His voice is now crackly by reason of his old age. He would never be invited to sing this solo at any church service or temple function. But you know, even though older people have crackly voices, they have a lot of great things to say – if you pay attention to them. Simeon had been hoping to see the Messiah before he died.
