Christmas Personalities

December has arrived and with it the Christmas season. Christmas for some people focuses on commercialism and presents under the tree. Others look forward to the end of the month because it brings some welcome days off work. Still others love the festivities, parties, and family gatherings associated with this time of year.

Let me invite you to revisit some of the characters of the Christmas story. Take a fresh look at the personalities long associated with the birth of Jesus.

This morning we begin with a very important person mention in the gospel accounts. Her name is Mary. She was a young Jewish girl that suddenly found herself thrust into the heart of God’s redemption story.

Note the following:

Christmas is a time to bring your doubts, worries, and fears to God. – (Lk. 1:29)

Christmas is a time to say “yes” to God. – (Lk. 1:38)

Christmas is a time to sing joyfully to God. – (Lk. 1:46-48)
